For a Polish AliExpress buyer, the customs question is no longer just a threshold on a chart. Since July 2026, the EU’s low-value duty rules have changed, while the practical Polish experience still depends on who presents the parcel to customs, whether VAT was already collected through IOSS, and whether the shipment reaches Poczta Polska or another operator.
That makes the local handoff unusually important. If Poczta Polska handles a low-value postal import, it can make the customs declaration under its statutory authority, request supporting documents when the parcel data are incomplete, and collect amounts connected with the clearance process. A checkout that looks finished online can therefore still have a Polish customs step later.

When Poczta Polska becomes the customs intermediary
For postal consignments entering Poland from outside the EU, Poczta Polska can do more than deliver the parcel. Its current customs guidance says that for consignments up to €150 it has statutory authority to submit the electronic customs declaration on the recipient’s behalf. In the straightforward case, the recipient does not need to contact KAS or file the declaration personally.
That convenience depends on the information travelling with the parcel. If the description is vague, data are missing or customs needs verification, Poczta Polska can ask the recipient for supporting documents such as the invoice or order record before the declaration is completed.
Do not turn that postal process into a universal AliExpress route. A different carrier can use its own customs and final-mile procedure. Set the real Polish delivery address before comparing listings, then read the shipping route, tracking and carrier information attached to the order rather than assuming that every parcel goes through Poczta Polska or a particular Polish warehouse.

The €3 rule has conditions — and it is not €3 per parcel
The old rule that every commercial parcel below €150 simply enters the EU free of customs duty is no longer current. The adopted EU regulation applies from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2028 and introduces a temporary €3 customs-duty treatment for consignments with an intrinsic value not exceeding €150 where the import falls under the IOSS-linked VAT condition or the goods are in a qualifying postal consignment.
Poland’s Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa gives the same two-part scope in its current implementation guidance. The €3 treatment should therefore not be described as a universal AliExpress fee for every order below €150.
The amount is also not necessarily €3 for the whole parcel. The Council and Polish guidance explain the calculation by product category or tariff sub-heading. Several units belonging to one tariff category can generate one €3 amount, while goods falling under different tariff categories can generate several such amounts.
Outside the cases covered by that temporary treatment, do not force the import into the same simplified formula. The declaration route and tariff treatment of the actual goods still matter.
VAT may already be in the checkout — or may appear in the postal process
IOSS remains part of the EU VAT system for distance sales of imported goods in consignments not exceeding €150. When VAT is collected through IOSS at the time of purchase, Poczta Polska’s guidance says it is not collected again as import VAT at delivery, although the parcel still requires a customs declaration and a postal declaration charge can still apply.
Poland’s standard VAT rate is 23%, with reduced rates applying to defined categories. That does not justify adding 23% mechanically to every AliExpress cart. Product classification and the way VAT has been handled for the particular order determine what is relevant.
Keep the order confirmation and the tax information shown at checkout until delivery. If the parcel is stopped for clarification, those records help show what was bought, what was paid and whether VAT was already collected.

What Poczta Polska may collect — and what not to pay through a link
For a postal parcel that it clears, Poczta Polska says amounts connected with customs and tax, plus its postal charge for making the customs declaration, can be collected in the delivery or collection process depending on the procedure used. Its July 2026 notice also separates the EU customs amount from Poczta Polska’s own service charge.
There is an important fraud check here. Poczta Polska’s current customs FAQ warns that it does not collect customs-and-tax charges through electronic payment links. If an SMS or email tells you to pay those charges through a website before release of the parcel, do not treat the message as proof that the request is genuine. Check the shipment in the official postal system and use the payment method specified by Poczta Polska for the actual delivery or collection.
This is one reason to keep customs notices, marketplace messages and tracking events separate. A seller message cannot confirm a Polish customs debt, and a random payment link is not a substitute for the official parcel record.
Follow the carrier handoff instead of an old Poland-wide delivery time
The current Poland page’s fixed delivery promises and claims that orders are routinely routed through one warehouse are not reliable enough for a new purchase. Delivery depends on the listing, dispatch point, carrier, customs processing and final-mile route attached to the exact order.
If the shipment is recognized by Poczta Polska, its eMonitoring service can show Polish and some international tracking events. PoKupar’s AliExpress tracking guide can help interpret the marketplace-side statuses before and during that handoff. A parcel handled by another carrier may never appear in Poczta Polska tracking, so the absence of a local postal scan is not by itself evidence that the order is lost.
If AliExpress Standard Shipping appears on the listing, PoKupar’s AliExpress Standard Shipping guide explains the broader logistics model without promising one Poland delivery time. For the order itself, use the estimate shown after the Polish address is selected and compare the shipping fee, tracking visibility and return terms for the chosen variant.
PLN display is useful, but the bank still settles the payment
A price shown in Polish złoty makes listings easier to compare, but the display currency should not be treated as a guarantee of the final settlement currency or conversion rate. Read the amount and currency on the live checkout before authorizing the payment, then check the issuing bank’s current card and foreign-currency terms if the transaction is not settled the way you expect.
Narodowy Bank Polski publishes current average and buy/sell exchange-rate tables for foreign currencies against PLN. Those tables are useful as an official market reference, not as a promise of the rate a card issuer or payment network will use for a specific AliExpress transaction.
Avoid relying on the old page’s static list of Przelewy24, PayU, cards or other methods. Checkout options can change by account and transaction. PoKupar’s AliExpress payment guide covers the general payment flow and troubleshooting without promising that one method will always appear for a Polish buyer.
Some products need a regulatory check before the parcel starts moving
Customs value is not the only reason an import can be stopped. Plants, seeds and other plant products are a useful example: Poland’s plant-health authority says that internet purchases arriving by post or courier from outside the EU can be subject to phytosanitary prohibitions or certificate and inspection requirements, depending on the product.
That does not mean every ordinary consumer item requires a permit. It means marketplace availability is not proof that a controlled product can enter Poland without additional conditions. For a plant product or another regulated category, check the competent Polish authority before ordering rather than waiting for the parcel to reach customs.
Make the Polish customs path visible before you pay
For an ordinary AliExpress order, the useful final check is whether you can follow the route after checkout. Set the real Polish address, confirm where the selected variant is being dispatched from, keep the VAT record, and note which carrier is expected to handle the shipment. PoKupar’s AliExpress address guide can help with the platform fields without replacing the real delivery details.
If the purchase is flexible, PoKupar’s AliExpress Sales Calendar can help you decide whether waiting for a sale period is worthwhile. In Poland, however, the discount should come after the customs path is understandable: a lower product price does not remove a postal declaration, an import rule or a product-specific restriction.

Go to the site, create an account. To do this, you need to have an email address. Enter the delivery address to which the parcel should arrive. Look for a product. Preferably, one that can be ordered from a warehouse located in one of the EU countries. Then everything is like in a regular online store. If the product does not match the photo or description, you can return the money.
Find the product you want and click on “buy” or “add to cart”. Then you complete your purchase and make a payment. Although prices for AliExpress are quoted in PLN, payment is accepted in USD. In some cases, customs and other fees may be required. But this rarely happens, only with expensive goods imported from China.
The fastest and easiest way is through the Przelewy24 / PayU payment systems. Payment will take place in less than a minute. Another way is a credit or debit bank card. The only requirement is your bank’s permission to pay for goods in international online stores. There are other payment methods, but they take longer or cause some difficulties.
To the address that you indicated. The postman will bring it to you. In some cases, the parcel can be picked up by InPost. If customs clearance is required, you will receive a recommended letter informing you of this. You can also issue documents via e-mail. The process takes up to 2 weeks.
Straight to your home. They are usually delivered by Poczta Polska. You can order goods not only for yourself but also for another person. For example, by making a gift in this way to a loved one or a relative. You can also choose paid shipping. For example, via courier service EMS. In this case, the parcel will be delivered to you by this courier service.
